Shipping
Tubers will be shipped starting in early/mid April of 2025, the exact date will be dependent on the weather in your region and how well your requested tubers are waking up. An eye will be viable before we ship, to be sure we are not shipping you a blind-eyed tuber.
IMPORTANT: Open your box immediately upon arrival and move the tubers into your ideal storing medium.
If you want your tubers shipped earlier in the season, when the risk of freezing is still present, please email me with your confirmation number and we can discuss how I can accommodate you (the use of insulated shipping boxes, added hot packs, and expedited overnight or FedEx shipping are all possible, but will increase the shipping costs). In these cases, you, the buyer (and NOT Windstone Farm) accepts the risk and financial loss due to freezing damage during shipment. Please refer to the map at the bottom of this page or the following website to select an appropriate shipping date for your area. You can enter this requested date at checkout. Your products will be shipped using US Postal Service Priority Mail Flat Rate shipping boxes or Fedex 2Day Flat Rate.

If you end up placing multiple orders at different times, your orders can be combined and a refund of any excess shipping fees may be credited to your orders. Please email your request and include all order confirmation numbers to combine shipping.

Return Policy
Labeled dahlia tubers will be shipped with at least one visible eye. Upon receipt, you must open the package and inspect the tubers as soon as they are received. This is to ensure that the tubers were not damaged in transit and that the order is correct. Please notify me within 3 days of receipt to report any problems with tubers. Send me photos and a description of the problem by email.
Once you have received a satisfactory shipment, Windstone Farm will not be responsible for any damage or loss due to storage, growing conditions, freezing or monsoon weather conditions, or rodent damage after customer has received the tubers. Different dahlia varieties sprout at different times, but you should usually expect to see active growth anywhere between 2 weeks to 6 weeks after receiving them and when placed in a growth promoting environment (60*F, in moist potting soil). Occasionally, despite the presence of what looks like a good viable eye, some tubers refuse to grow. If you are not satisfied with your tuber please contact and let me know of any concerns about the dahlia tuber by July 1st of the current growing season. Our replacement policy is limited to the purchase price of the tubers only and shipping costs are nonrefundable.
Safe shipping dates based on expected last spring freeze.
